Cleanroom drive extraction · deep data mining and reassembly

Class 100 cleanroom drive work · fixing clicking caused by deformed heads · array reconstruction to prevent secondary damage

A professional hard drive physical inspection and deep data extraction centre in Zhengzhou

When a computer suddenly reports 'not initialised' or a cyclic redundancy check error, the drive starts making noise, or a flash chip stops responding altogether, ordinary extraction methods no longer work. It means the media has suffered a deep firmware lock-up or serious mechanical damage. We can help with low-level sector cloning and fragment reassembly, recovering not only ordinary files but also reconstructing some overwritten or deleted records. Fengniu Tech's technical headquarters is a physical store on the 4th floor of Buynow (Bainaohui) IT Mall in Zhengzhou. Our hardware team owns industry-standard PC-3000 UDMA and PC-3000 SSD kits together with a standard Class 100 clean bench. We work down to the drive firmware layer, track bytes and flash memory cell level to deliver professional, transparent, hard-core data extraction.

Advanced hard drive analysis and reassembly capability

Class 100 cleanroom head replacement

For mechanical drives whose heads have burned out, seized or jammed the platters through impact or ageing, we open the sealed enclosure inside a professional Class 100 cleanroom and swap in a matching head assembly with precision tooling, so the media suffers zero secondary damage and the low-level data image can be read cleanly.

PC-3000 firmware-level drive reconstruction

With the top-tier PC-3000 UDMA tool we professionally rebuild firmware faults such as corrupted Seagate translator tables, locked-up slow-responding WD modules and abnormal Toshiba modules. Physical bad-sector masking and safe image-level extraction are supported.

RAID array and NAS analysis

We focus on RAID 0/1/5/6/10 and complex mixed hardware/software arrays such as NAS systems. When several member drives go offline or the array configuration is lost, our in-house topology virtualisation software automatically derives the core stripe parameters - block size, drive order and parity rules - and reconstructs the array to recover large volumes of data.

Low-level SSD and NAND flash rescue

Using the PC-3000 SSD kit we enter the flash memory's low-level safe area (Techno Mode) to repair controller bad-block allocation faults or bypass hardware encryption. We extract the raw block bytes from the NAND flash directly and emulate the controller's wear-levelling logic to complete difficult data extraction from a dead SSD.

Recover first, pay later - our integrity guarantee

No hidden tricks, pay for results: Fengniu Tech guarantees that the initial physical inspection of every submitted device is completely free. We were among the first in the industry to adopt a strict integrity rule: we charge only when we successfully extract valid data beyond the state in which the device arrived, and waive the entire technical service fee if we do not - removing any financial worry for you (except for the cost of micro electronic chips consumed and not reusable after board transplants or chip removal).

Multi-layered data confidentiality firewall: We deeply respect every client's business information and personal photo privacy. Before any device is submitted, both sides sign a formal confidentiality agreement (NDA). Our Fengniu hardware analysis room runs on an independent intranet, and once delivery is confirmed, all intermediate data generated is permanently and irreversibly destroyed at the physical level by dedicated wiping routines within 24 hours.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Cut the power immediately, and do not keep powering it on to try again. A rhythmic clicking means the read/write heads are already badly deformed or broken. If you keep powering the drive on, the platters spinning at 5,400-7,200 rpm will be scratched by those deformed heads, causing a fatal ring scratch and permanent, unrecoverable data loss.

In normal operation the flying height between the heads and the fast-spinning platters is only a few nanometres - far smaller than a speck of dust or a smoke particle. If a drive is opened in an ordinary room, dust in the air settles onto the platters immediately; when the drive spins up, the heads strike that dust at high speed and are damaged, sometimes scraping the magnetic coating off the platters completely and destroying the data. Our lab is equipped with a professional Class 100 clean bench, so the media faces no risk of secondary contamination.

Yes. SSDs have no moving parts; their failures usually come down to a locked controller chip, a corrupted firmware translation table (bad block allocation error) or bad blocks in the NAND flash. With the professional PC-3000 SSD kit we use the built-in low-level safety protocol (Techno Mode) to bypass the damaged controller, read and verify the physical blocks in the flash directly, and rebuild complete partition data according to the controller's algorithms.

Bad sectors are usually caused by shock while the drive is reading or writing, by a sudden power loss that makes the heads scratch the platters, or by natural ageing and demagnetisation of the platters. They make file reads extremely slow, cause freezes and can leave files unreadable. Once bad sectors appear they spread like an infection, and forcing the drive to keep reading and writing enlarges the damaged area. Using PC-3000's DE (Data Extractor) physical-level cloning, we mask bad sectors automatically and force-read the remaining healthy sectors, saving the vast majority of data before the drive fails completely.

Yes. RAID failures caused by several drives failing physically, lost array metadata or a failed rebuild are a common disaster for large companies. Fengniu Tech has a dedicated virtual RAID reconstruction lab. We first inspect and image every drive in the array, then use our in-house analysis software to derive the block size, stripe direction and parity algorithm and rebuild the array virtually on a workstation - extracting the core data without writing anything to the original drives and minimising the risk of further damage.
