Chip-Level Motherboard Repair FAQ
For the vast majority of mainboard faults (a failed power chip, a shorted capacitor overheating, an audio IC fault and so on), chip-level repair only replaces the damaged surrounding resistors, capacitors or chips locally and does not affect the user data stored in the flash memory (NAND flash / hard drive). Even in the rare cases where the mainboard substrate is so badly damaged that the board must be transplanted, we use professional equipment to move the original CPU and encrypted flash chips across as a matched set, repairing the hardware while doing everything possible to keep your existing data intact.
